Rosuvastatin ethyl ester is an intermediate for the production of super statin-rosuvastatin calcium. Rosuvastatin calcium is currently the most effective statin for reducing LDL-C. It officially entered clinical use in 2003. Due to its high strength and safety It has the characteristics of low toxicity and low incidence of adverse reactions, and has become the most commonly prescribed statin in clinical practice. As a true high-intensity statin, rosuvastatin calcium shows moderate intensity cholesterol reduction when the dose reaches 5 to 10 mg. When it reaches 20 mg, it can reduce cholesterol with high intensity (the maximum clinical dosage abroad can reach 40 mg/day).
